We are hoping to start a 'Friends of Silverwell' group to help us discover more about the history of our centre and ensure that we can continue to support local groups and organisations who can share our space to develop their own services, projects and ideas.

This voluntary group will work alongside the Board and staff based at Silverwell House to see how we can continue the legacy of the centre by co-ordinating projects with community partners to promote the history of the house and Bolton.  Agencies we will be hope to work alongside include:

  • educational groups,
  • local history societies,
  • resident groups,
  • arts and crafts agencies.

The 'friends' group will also be responsible for sourcing information and curating pictures and artefacts linked to the house and area to be displayed throughout the centre.

To help us tell the story of Silverwell we hope to constitute the 'friends' group as an independent agency in the near future and to achieve this we will need to raise funds to support their publicity and administration costs.  Check out the History of Silverwell House page to see why we think our home is so special, and if you'd like to know more browse though the Share our Space room lists to find out the stories behind the names of our rooms.

If you are interested in helping us create this new project please contact us to find out more.  If you are unable to give time, you are also able to help us by donating to our 'Friends of Silverwellbeing' fund, which will be used to provide funding to promote membership and cover the costs for potential partners identified above to use our space to meet or exhibit their work.

Your funds can help us support our new project and other local organisations by providing the following resources:

  • £12 covers the costs of a small meeting room, including refreshments for up to 6 people for one hour.
  • £20 covers the costs of training space, including resources and refreshments for up to 16 people for one hour.
  • £50 - £100 will support the costs of training and supporting the new 'Friends of Silverwell House' volunteers.
  • £100 - £250 will allow us to publicise and promote this project through a variety of media.

Or from £500 would you or your organisation like to sponsor one of our therapy rooms for a year?

Room sponsorship would allow you to use your chosen room for up to 25 hours a year, display a plaque and have an area to place publicity materials for your group or organisation.  It would allow us to resource the room with information and items that celebrate the person or event it is named after.  Contact us if you would like to discuss room sponsorship further.
