About the qualification:

Our Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), is accredited by The Open College Network and provides an introduction for learners to develop effective practice in this area of work by identifying the role and boundaries of an IAG worker or volunteer.  Upon completion the learner will be able to identify the IAG needs of service users and provide assistance in signposting individuals to other agencies for further support.

The Level 2 qualification enables learners to:

  • Develop effective IAG practice.
  • Understand the role and boundaries of IAG work.
  • Identify the IAG needs of clients accessing services.
  • Have the ability to signpost clients to relevant services.

Entry requirements:

Learners do not need any specific qualifications or experience to join our course, but basic reading, writing and verbal skills are important for you to get the most from this programme.  Participants will mainly learn through involvement in exercises and discussion groups with fellow team members, but we also expect you to put into practice your developing skills in other areas of your life and work.

Further information:

  • This course can be delivered in half or full day sessions, at our Silverwell centre or an off site location.
