Why do you offer single session therapy?
At 1point we know there is no single therapy or approach to meet everyone’s needs at all times, but frequently the most effective help is the support you get at the point of need. We know there are many key issues which motivate people to seek support, yet understand most people just want an opportunity to make contact quickly with a therapist rather than wait weeks or months for the next available set of ongoing appointments.
We believe that every client is unique and their individual needs should be recognised. It is vitally important to us that you are involved in making decisions about what counselling support you require now or in the future.

What happens during a single session appointment?
A skilled and experienced therapist will focus on the issues that are currently causing you most distress and work with you to understand what immediate action you can take to improve your mental wellbeing in the short term. Together we will look at different feasible options available to you, which can include ending therapy at this stage; considering a further single session in the near future; arranging to have ongoing counselling or accessing support elsewhere. The choice is yours.
What if I want more than a single session?
No problem! We aim to arrange an initial single appointment with you as soon as possible. You can decide at this meeting whether you wish to commit to ongoing counselling sessions in the near future. If you feel more contact would help, we will forward your details (with your permission), to a therapist from the 1point network who will contact you when the next appointment becomes available.
